The winners of the Mandurah Matters Big Check-in Kids Creative Competition were announced last week from a field of more than 500 amazing entries from local school students.
During the month of August, the community shared invaluable thoughts and ideas about Mandurah’s priorities now and into the future.
Overall, the City received close to 5000 pieces of feedback which included online and hardcopy surveys, face to face conversations, pop up events, and the Kids Creative Competition.
These contributions are helping the City to shape the community and inform the 20 Year Strategic Community Plan.
Mandurah Mayor Rhys Williams and CEO Casey Mihovilovich announced the big winners of the Kids Creative Competition at last week’s Junior Council meeting.
The winners were…
- Kindy – Year 1 category: Payton from Falcon Primary School
- Year 2 – Year 4 category: Ryder from Oakwood Primary School
- Year 5 & Year 6 category: Kailee, Olivia and Room 15 from Dudley Primary School AND Sam, Benjamin, Jayden, Ben, Jesse, Lorenzo, Hamish, Riley & Jackson from St Damien’s Catholic Primary School

The overall prize is a class party at the Mandurah Aquatic and Recreation Centre (MARC), and all other winners will receive tickets to Reading Cinemas. A selection of artworks from the Kids Creative Competition will be displayed at the MARC foyer during the first three weeks of October.
Thanks to everyone who took part in the Big Check-in. The City is now working on the next phase which includes forming working groups to take a closer look at the key areas that matter to Mandurah.
